And Some Said It Would Never Happen

Last fall, when I called my friend Ben Kinney to tease him by telling him “for the first time in years no one has invited me to MegaCamp or Family Reunion.” Ben’s response was one of the funniest I have heard (even though I have not read the book, I got the essence of it).

“Maya, you’ve had 50 shades of Keller Williams and you are not coming over.”  Were his exact words. Possibly one of the greatest comments I have ever heard, bar none.

I laughed. He made a good point. I realized they had wooed me for years, supported me, and been true blue friends.

Sue Adler dedicated lots of time since 2009 to help me understand the right way to build my real estate “dream team”.  Sue posed an intriguing question to me when we first spoke. I can hear her say it, and not just once – but many times as I asked the same questions repeatedly.

“Why don’t you join Keller Williams? The systems are there, you will get so much out of it” to which I replied, and I replied to many for many years with the following statement…

“The model isn’t quite there in my market. I know what it can be, I know what the ideal is, but it isn’t there yet. When it is, I will be there.”

It is here, in Wilmington, Newark, Kennett Square, Lewes and throughout Delaware.  If you think you knew what Keller Williams was in Delaware, you don’t know KW. This is the REAL ideal.Maya Paveza, aka @mayaREguru has joined the Wilmington Delaware office of Keller Williams Realty

Keller Williams is a real estate company built around education and technology.  Maya joining KW is a match made in heaven.  Her expertise and experience in marketing, technology, and her commitment to education and teaching made joining KW the long over due logical choice for her growing business.”

I have listened to the party lines of the other brands, the “kool aid” comments, the other things people typically say. All I can say is that I know it works, I have watched it for years. I know many “Mega Agents” and I know that what Keller Williams teaches is the difference between having a successful real estate team and having a success real estate career and life.

This industry can be better, real estate agents can have balance between work and life. You can function at a more efficient level, and serve your clients better. All through education, systems, the ways that you are taught to identify candidates for your team, and the team structure.

And today the possibilities seem limitless. With remarkable leaders like Bob Hoza, Matt Fetick and Larry Tims at my immediate disposal, how could I not succeed. I am already reenergized, excited, and can’t wait to get back to doing what I love – helping my clients and consumers.

I have moved my business, and re-established my team at Keller Williams Realty Wilmington Delaware. I will continue to serve Delaware and Pennsylvania, and I still have an incredible international network to refer people to – amazing agents.

I will be relaunching TheHipRoof.com shortly as a private coaching community, after the Fall Realtor Magazine article I have gotten so many requests for private coaching, and in time I will also be joining the MAPS coaching team. I am getting there, where I want to be.

I am so grateful for those that helped me build my career in Delaware and Pennsylvania over the years, people I consider my fabulous mentors, people like Gene Millman, Joyce Sparks, Elaine Woerner, Larry Tims, Mike McGavisk, Ruth Vella, Vincent White, Dick Christopher and many others. These are the standards, the people by which I measure my business.

I am extremely fortunate to have a great career, great support systems and amazing clients. Here’s to building it better and bringing the passion and joy back to my business!

Red has always been my favorite color after all.
